Yacht Week Wanna Be.

Being back in Sweden is not getting any easier. I needed to get away, clear my mind and sleep off some of my Yacht Week blues.
So my friends suggested a 'detox' weekend in my very still and peaceful fishing cottage.

After living in 35 degrees and sun for a week this was not what I would call 'bikini' weather. I miss those days when you could just prance around in a bikini all day. I now catch myself comparing everything to how it was a week ago.

Jumper and jacket weather from now on I guess.

Instead of delicious grilled octopus with a big squeeze of lemon juice and a sprinkle of salt.

I would be barbecuing chicken and vegetable skewers for a wrap with philadelphia and salad. Also tasty, I guess!

Instead watching fireworks with a tear of joy in my eye.

I was now looking at a flickering candle with a mosquito bite on my cheek.

Instead of looking out over the blue ocean filled with yachts and harbours.

This was my view - just a tad calmer.

Forget long board walks with rows of yacht week boats, crawling with sexy drunk jet-setters...

...and embrace a short wooden bridge with two wet rats.

No more drinking vodka from a pineapple through neon straws.

Instead today I will have slightly too sweet Swedish cider.

No more swimming with my best friends in the luke warm turquoise sea.

Because now I could swim alone in freezing cold lake water. Hmm...

I will also have to downgrade from watching cute boys doing tricks in the water.

Now I have to resort to geting a stubborn dog into the water for my daily dose of entertainment.

It was a massive fail by the way!

Instead of hanging out at a beach party under the palm trees looking out over the sunset.

I would now be looking over this little birch in front of a very silent and still lake.
(I am starting to feel a little depressed again...)

I lost a brunette in a bikini.

but I gained a blond without shoes.

Instead of opening a local bottle of white...on a yacht.

I would now be left empty handed...on a rock.

No more late nights and early mornings at beach clubs celebrating with new friends.

...no need for words.

So I have barely had time to unpack and certainly haven't had time to do my laundry. So now I am rocking the Yacht Week polo with pride... and not much of a choice. Unless I want to be walking around in one of those old t-shirts from the back of the wardrobe - never to be worn, but too comfy to throw away.

I guess what I am trying to say with all this, is that I really miss Yacht Week. If I start listing all the good things about it, we would still be here tomorrow.

All I know is that I'll see you all at Yacht Week Croatia, South Route again next year, If I don't see you at Yacht Week BVI first that is ;)

    1. Sweden is beautiful, just maybe not as exiting. Summer will come again, but after a very long and cold winter in Sweden. Might run away to another country. haha.

  4. Hey Valentina. I read your blog often and this one made me smile. I love the quirkiness this post has! You are very funny in many posts you have, and this one, though sad because you were missing something, is making me giggle. I love reading your blog as well as the londoner. Your Cottage looks amazing by the way.
    Thanks for the post!

Is your full time occupation as a blogger or are you a model as well?

Your life seems amazing - I wish we could trade places. :)

  7. I love your blog. Your posts during Yatch week made me ache to be there and your posts from Sweden do the same. Seeing them compared like this was just brilliant. Such difference, yet both seem so magical to me. :)
